need your help

Hi My Friends.  I know you dont hear
much from me as of late
but I need a little help and I am pretty sure you guys will have the answer.

A friend of ours wants to adopt a
special needs pup that is now
living in Hanksville Alabama at a rescue.

Because of its special needs,
there is no way it can fly in the
cargo area..

If anyone knows of a way for us to
transport this pup other than
by a major airline, could you please
let My Vickie know.

Happy Wordless Wednesday to you all.

Love
Bert

  2. You might be able to hitch a ride on some rescue transports. Maybe some of those in blogland will have some ideas.

Good luck - that is such a wonderful thing to do.

  13. I don't know the cost constraints but when I googled "canine transport", I found a bunch of companies that will drive a dog long distance, door-to-door. E.g., www.propetvehicletransport.com. I have no idea how much they cost nor do I have any experience with them. I have read good things about people's experiences with some companies like these, though.

Hope this helps or that a totally free solution works out!

  17. Try to put the word out on the CB (Cat Blogosphere) and on Cats With Blogs on FB. There have been some pretty amazing transports organised lately. Also, talk with Khyra and her Mom. They do a lot of driving for rescue organisations and might be able to help you in the right direction.

  24. Burt,

I read about this man on Coffee and a Canine.

Dog Is My CoPilot is dedicated to saving animals' lives by providing air transportation to abandoned cats and dogs. DIMC decreases the number of animals killed in shelters and increases shelter adoption by flying animals to areas where they are more adoptable.

DIMC works with established nonprofit animal rescue organizations (AROs) to coordinate flights. AROs pull animals from kill shelters (odd phrase, don't you think?) and move them to safety in humane rescues, breed specific rescues, and foster/furever homes. When the distance the animals need to travel is too great for over-the-road transport, DIMC swoops in to fly them.

Our typical mission is more than 600 nautical miles. There is never a fee to the sending or receiving ARO.

    Here is his link.

  26. If you have facebook go online and look for transports. There are so many that are just volunteers doing a one or two hour leg at a time. PTTR (Paws to the rescue) is one of them, if you can't find them, e-mail (auntiejodi@hotmail.com) I'm sure I have one of their e-mails somewhere!
