See Beautiful Friday

See Beautiful is a once a month Blog Hop,
every 2nd Friday of the month.
Simply create a blog post
that made your day,
week, and/or month …
inspiring you in Seeing Beauty.
Blog Hop inspired by

Our See Beautiful Friday is a focus
on our Sweet Bessie, a foster sister
to the famous James Dean

Bessie, came to their family
after facing "the last days"
Her previous family no
longer wanted her and had turned
her over to the shelter for euthanize.
 She could barely walk
 as her legs and feet
are so deformed and arthritic.

With lots of love, some incredible
veterinary care and a fuller lifestyle
Miss Bessie is moving around on her
little crippled legs with much less pain
and more joy than she has known
for years.  Seeing her sweet spirit
enjoying her last years in more
happiness than she has ever known
is a "See Beautiful" moment
for us 6 days a week.

Those little crooked legs,
that one blue eye,
the chubby little basset body.

BEAUTIFUL

  2. You know I just love her. And she is a beauty of that there is no doubt. Beautiful does not see what the world deeds as yucky, it sees with the heart and I have to say Betsie is a sweet face to look at as well.

  22. I would love to post as me (Karen Larsen), but I don't have a Google account and I don't understand what the other options are, so I will remain anonymous. What a beautiful baby Bessie is! Thanks for giving her a wonderful life in her final days. I totally can not understand how someone can dump a loyal member of the family when they get old. Breaks my heart.

  32. Mum and I luv your blog, and this one especially strikes a chord. After 'dogsittin' some smaller dogs (I'm 75 lbs and LUV LUV LUVS small dogs) she volunteered to foster a smaller dog. Well, the Poodle Rescue here in Tucson called mum. They had a 14 year old poodle whose pawrents (who'd had her since a puppy) got a divorce and didn't want her. Rescue lady asked mum if she would like April. Mum said yes, even tho she was told that
April has incontinence problesm. Well, given that I sometime pee in the house, mum said of course she would take April. We have had her about a month now, and I really like her. I let her sleep on my bed and I sleep on the floor. She has also comandeered some of my other stuff, but I like her so much I don't really mind. The Rescue lady provides everything we need for her (and food for me!!) and even arranged to have my two kitty sisters fixed so they no longer go into heat!!!! Boy is it ever quieter now!!!!

Anyway -- hope you have a good weekend -- mum is off to volunteer at the Festival of Books here in Tucson, so we wont get to see her much this weekend!!!

  33. This is one of the most beautiful posts we have seen. How anyone could decide that they no longer wanted Bessie is beyond us. To share your love with a senior dog and brighten it's days, no matter how many they may be is one of the nest gifts in the world.
You will be repayed 10 fold for your acts of kindness.
